CDA unveils plans for walk-friendly Blue Area, Jinnah Super

Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has announced plans to develop pedestrian-friendly infrastructure in Islamabad’s Blue Area and Jinnah Super Market, aiming to enhance accessibility and urban aesthetics. During a meeting chaired by CDA Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa, officials discussed the construction of high-quality pedestrian tracks in these commercial hubs. The initiative is part of a broader strategy to make key areas of the capital more accessible and vibrant for residents and visitors. Chairman Randhawa emphasized that the Blue Area parking plaza must be completed before work begins on the pedestrian tracks. He also directed officials to incorporate recreational facilities and digital screens at key entry and exit points. To further improve the area’s appeal, the CDA plans to standardize shop signage, install benches, provide dedicated trash bins, and implement a high-standard cleanliness system. The facades of buildings in the Blue Area will also be upgraded to enhance the commercial district’s visual appeal.
