CDA to launch safari park, zip lines, cable cars to boost tourism

Islamabad: The Chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA), Muhammad Ali Randhawa, revealed on Monday that the authority is set to launch several major tourism projects in Islamabad, aimed at boosting the city’s status as a premier tourist destination. These initiatives are part of a broader vision to enhance the quality of life for residents while attracting more visitors to the capital. Speaking to a private news channel, Randhawa outlined plans to develop a safari park, zip lines, and cable cars as part of a strategic effort to tap into Islamabad’s tourism potential. He mentioned that discussions with potential partners, such as AV Tech, are already underway, and once agreements are finalized, the projects will be launched in phases. He emphasized that the initiatives would be key to shaping the city’s future, enhancing its global appeal, and ensuring long-term growth and sustainability. The safari park, zip lines, and cable cars are expected to be major attractions, drawing both local and international tourists. These developments are aligned with the CDA’s broader plan to transform Islamabad into a modern urban center that combines a high quality of life with thriving tourism and business opportunities. In addition to tourism-focused projects, Randhawa highlighted several ongoing infrastructure improvements in the city. The CDA is working on the completion of key projects, including underpasses at Serena Hotel, Jinnah Underpass, and Srinagar Highway, as well as improvements to the city’s road structure. These projects are nearly complete, with final architectural work underway, and are expected to be finished in the next seven days. Randhawa also addressed the ongoing water supply challenges in Islamabad, announcing the creation of a new Islamabad Water agency under the CDA. The agency aims to tackle the city’s water issues, with Cabinet approval already secured, and coordination with donors underway to ensure a sustainable solution.
