Islamabad: A news source reported on December 23 that efforts to enhance infrastructure, social services, and climate resilience in Pakistan are advancing through collaboration with the Asian Development Bank (ADB).

According to the details, seven ongoing development projects are underway under the Special Investment Facilitation Council, with 16 additional projects planned for next year.
Key initiatives include a USD 200 million modernisation of Pakistan’s power transmission system and the installation of smart metres for power distribution companies.

Additionally, the ADB has approved USD 330 million in aid for social protection programs, emphasising healthcare and education for women and children. Acknowledging Pakistan’s efforts to mitigate climate change impacts, the ADB has also provided USD 500 million in additional funding to support these initiatives. |
