Lahore: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) announced that the beautification and expansion of the Thokar entry and exit point is nearing completion, according to a news source on December 3.

Pursuant to the details, this project aims to enhance both the functionality and aesthetics of one of Lahore’s primary city gateways. LDA Director General Tahir Farooq visited the site to oversee progress and emphasised the importance of timely completion. He directed the project team to accelerate the remaining beautification work while ensuring minimal inconvenience to commuters.
Project Updates
LDA Chief Engineer Asrar Saeed and the design consultant and project director provided a detailed briefing during the visit. The following updates were shared:
Roadwork Progress: Asphalt paving is complete on one side of the entry point, while milling and asphalt work on the opposite side progress steadily.
Aesthetic Enhancements: NJ barriers are being installed on the motorway-facing side, while attractive fencing, signage, and monuments are being incorporated to elevate the visual appeal of the area.
Lighting and Ramps: Solar-powered streetlights have been installed along footpaths, and ramps are being improved to enhance accessibility and appearance.

The project team highlighted challenges related to heavy traffic in the area but assured that all efforts were being made to complete the work efficiently.
