Services at your doorstep: Sukkur goes digital with e-services

Sukkur: In a groundbreaking initiative, the Sukkur district administration has launched e-services under the slogan ‘Services at your doorstep.’ The People’s Service Center was inaugurated on Wednesday by Sindh Minister for Energy, Planning, and Development, Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, who hailed the development as a revolutionary step in public service delivery. Speaking at the ceremony, the minister said citizens could now access key documents such as domicile, PRC, inheritance certificates, and sales certificates from the comfort of their homes through the e-Services Sindh platform. He added, “All online applications will be processed within seven days, ensuring transparency and promoting digitization to provide swift services to citizens.” Read: Sukkur-Hyderabad Motorway may become part of CPEC Highlighting the government’s commitment, Syed Nasir Hussain Shah stated, “This initiative reflects the vision of Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, implemented by Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah and his team.” The minister emphasized that the e-services platform would eliminate unnecessary delays and harassment faced by citizens, particularly in obtaining domicile certificates. “Now, domiciles will be delivered to their homes through postal services,” he remarked. The Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Sukkur has been tasked with digitizing the district’s entire revenue record to enhance transparency. The minister also announced PKR 500,000 as a token of appreciation for the DC and his team for their efforts in launching the e-services initiative. Syed Nasir Hussain Shah instructed the commissioner to extend the facility to other districts in the division, including Khairpur and Ghotki. He further recommended expanding the service to the tehsil level, ensuring that citizens in remote areas such as Saleh Pat can also benefit. The initiative marks a significant step towards modernizing public service delivery in Sindh, to improve accessibility, transparency, and efficiency for the people of Sukkur.
