Islamabad: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has introduced ePayment 2.0, an advanced digital payment system embedded within the IRIS 2.0 portal, aimed at making tax compliance more accessible for taxpayers across Pakistan. This system aligns with the government’s goal to modernize tax infrastructure, consolidating tax payment functions into a single streamlined platform.

ePayment 2.0 provides a secure, efficient way for taxpayers to pay directly from their bank accounts via internet banking, ATMs, or mobile banking, removing the need for in-person bank visits. This system covers multiple tax types, including Income Tax, Sales Tax, Federal Excise Duty, and Withholding Taxes, and offers a unified payment experience directly within IRIS 2.0, avoiding the previously required shift to an external portal.
Taxpayers—both registered and unregistered—can use ePayment 2.0 to generate a unique Payment Slip ID (PSID) for each payment. Upon completion, they receive a Computerized Payment Receipt (CPR) via email and SMS, ensuring secure record-keeping and supporting future compliance needs.

To further enhance accessibility and transparency, ePayment 2.0 also includes a PSID search feature that allows users to retrieve and verify past payment records, minimizing delays and potential errors.
The system was inaugurated by Director General (IT&DT) Aisha Farooq at the PRAL Headquarters in Islamabad, highlighting its role in FBR’s commitment to digital innovation in tax administration. This initiative is part of FBR’s larger mission to create a business-friendly, efficient tax environment, simplifying tax payments while reinforcing transparency and accountability across Pakistan. |
