Quetta: The Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) has successfully tapped into a new natural gas source at the Uch-35 well in Dera Bugti, Balochistan, a significant milestone for both the company and the nation’s energy sector. The news has been sourced from a November 13 article. This breakthrough demonstrates the company’s technical proficiency and is expected to initially deliver an impressive 5 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD) of natural gas — a critical resource in Pakistan’s pursuit of energy independence. To swiftly bring this new gas supply online, OGDCL has installed a 1.2-kilometre, 8-inch flow line connecting Uch-35 directly to the Uch Gas Processing Plant. This integration not only ensures a consistent gas flow to Uch Power Limited (UPL) but also highlights OGDCL’s role as the sole stakeholder and operator of the Uch Development & Production Lease, underscoring its strategic influence in Balochistan’s energy sector.
