| Islamabad: The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) has approved five key proposals under the FBR Transformation Plan, according to a news article on November 13.

The approved areas are as follows:
Enhancement of FBR’s Operational Expertise and Organizational Capacity: This proposal focuses on elevating the FBR’s overall efficiency.
Performance Management System: New performance metrics for FBR officers aim to boost accountability and effectiveness.
Capacity Building Program: A development initiative for FBR officers to enhance skill levels and professional competencies.
Anti-Smuggling Initiatives: Measures to combat smuggling under the broader transformation goals.
Mobility and Transit Accommodation for FBR Officers: Provisions for FBR officers’ mobility and housing during fieldwork.
The ECC’s approval is contingent on a third-party impact evaluation of these measures and their KPIs by the next fiscal year, followed by a comprehensive review in 2025 to assess their effectiveness on revenue growth. Budgeting and allocation processes for these initiatives will be collaboratively developed by the Revenue and Finance Division |
