PM inaugurates Naltar Expressway, key development projects in G-B

Gilgit: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif inaugurated several major development projects in Gilgit-Baltistan (G-B) during a special ceremony held in Gilgit, emphasizing the federal government’s commitment to the region’s progress and sustainable growth. Key projects inaugurated include the long-anticipated Naltar Expressway, which will improve connectivity to the Naltar Valley, a prime area for tourism, and facilitate easier access for residents and visitors alike. Additionally, Prime Minister Shehbaz laid the foundation stones for critical energy and water infrastructure projects, such as the Attabad Lake Hydro Project, the Harpo Hydro Project, the establishment of a Regional Grid Station, and the Greater Water Supply Project for Hunza. These initiatives aim to address the region’s energy needs and strengthen the water supply, laying the groundwork for long-term sustainable development. During his address, the Prime Minister expressed optimism that these development projects would usher in a new era of prosperity for Gilgit-Baltistan. He emphasized the importance of preparing the region’s youth for emerging opportunities, especially in IT, as demand grows for skilled professionals in Gulf countries.
