| Lahore: Modern Ceramics Sanitary Ware (Pvt) Limited, a prominent Chinese company, is set to invest over PKR 8 billion in Punjab’s industrial sector, as reported on October 15.

As per details, this development surfaced during a meeting between the company’s delegation and the leadership of the Punjab Board of Investment and Trade (PBIT) at the PBIT headquarters. The meeting was attended by PBIT Chairman Muntaha Ashraf, CEO Suhail Saleem, and Board Member Ahmad Ali Tariq, who engaged with representatives of Modern Ceramics to finalise the company’s strategy for establishing a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in the Allama Iqbal Industrial City (AIIC).
The facility is expected to not only meet the rising domestic demand for sanitary ware but also position Pakistan as an exporter of premium sanitary products to key international markets across the Middle East, Africa, and beyond.
The investment, which will create over 500 jobs, is set to contribute significantly to the region’s economic growth and support import substitution, reducing Pakistan’s reliance on imported sanitary products. This move is anticipated to save millions in foreign exchange and strengthen the country’s trade balance.

Chairman Muntaha Ashraf assured the delegation of PBIT’s full support, reaffirming the board’s commitment to facilitating the smooth setup of the manufacturing unit through its dedicated facilitation wing. This investment represents a pivotal step towards expanding Punjab’s industrial base and enhancing Pakistan’s presence in global export markets. |
