| Islamabad: Belarusian Deputy Minister for Industries leksei Kushnarenko visited the Capital Development Authority (CDA) headquarters in Islamabad, where he was warmly received by Member Administration Talat Mehmood Gondal, as reported on September 26.

As per details, the visit marked a significant step towards fostering bilateral cooperation in Islamabad’s public transport system. The Deputy Director General of Islamabad’s Public Transport Wing also attended the meeting.
Discussions centered on bolstering collaboration, with a particular focus on advancing Islamabad’s electric bus infrastructure. During the talks, Kushnarenko assured Belarus’s full support in enhancing the city’s electric bus network—a vital stride towards sustainable and eco-friendly urban transport solutions.
Gondal expressed keen interest in partnering with Belarus, affirming that the initiative aligns seamlessly with CDA’s vision of creating a cleaner, more efficient, and modernised transport network for the capital. Islamabad has already made progress by introducing electric buses in various areas, significantly lowering its carbon footprint while modernizing its public transport infrastructure.
The two parties also explored the transfer of advanced electric bus technology and charging stations to Pakistan, along with plans to establish Belarusian electric vehicle manufacturing plants in the country. This development could pave the way for Pakistan to emerge as a hub for electric vehicle production, boosting both local manufacturing and technological capabilities. |
