Dera Ghazi Khan: The process of receiving loan applications for the ‘Apni Chhat Apna Ghar’ initiative has begun, with 15,000 individuals having applied for interest-free home loans so far, as reported on September 6.

As per details, in the initial phase, 657 applicants from Gujranwala have been selected to receive loans. Over the course of the program’s four phases, a total of 2,628 individuals from the city will benefit. The scheme promises to extend its reach to various regions, with notable plans for larger urban areas.
Details of the Scheme
Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz announced the launch at a ceremony in Dera Ghazi Khan, outlining the scheme’s benefits:
Loan Amount: PKR 15 lakh
Monthly Installments: PKR 14,000
Repayment Period: 7 years
Interest Rate: Zero
The scheme targets both rural and urban populations:
Rural Areas: Interest-free loans for up to 10 marla plots.
Urban Areas: Construction of 4-storey flats on government land and 3 to 5 marla houses in private schemes. The government will subsidize up to Rs 10 lakh per house in private projects.

Future Plans and Application Process
The initiative plans to build over 3,000 housing units in each district, starting with five major cities: Multan, Faisalabad, Sialkot, Sargodha, and Rawalpindi. In Lahore, the first phase will focus on constructing 5,000 houses near Raiwind Road.
Interested citizens can apply through the PITB portal or by calling the toll-free number 080009100. A special desk has been set up for processing applications from approved housing colonies.
