Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa visited the Islamabad Expressway project early in the morning on Saturday. The Chairman reviewed the ongoing construction work on the Korang, Railway and Bhinder Bridges on the Islamabad Expressway. Dr. Hafiz, Member Engineering and other officials accompanied him during the visit. Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa also reviewed the construction work on the Bus Bays being constructed along the Islamabad Expressway. The officials of the FWO briefed the Chairman at their Camp Office about the ongoing work on the Islamabad Expressway. During the briefing, the Chairman was assured that the work on the Islamabad Expressway would be completed by September 30. It was further briefed that the pace of work had been affected due to the monsoon rains, however, all out efforts are underway to accomplish the project within the stipulated time. Besides, it was highlighted that over 98% of the project work had been completed. The Kak Bridge has been opened to traffic for all kind of the traffic, while the structural work on the remaining bridges has been completed, while rapid progress is being made on the retention work and approaches to these bridges. The Chairman instructed that horticultural work along the expressway should be carried out concurrently. He noted that the completion of this project would further improve traffic flow in the city. The Chairman also emphasized adopting the best operational and maintenance model for the future maintenance and upkeep of the Islamabad Expressway. Later, Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa visited the Park Road and reviewed the ongoing carpeting and road structure work. On this occasion, he directed that the pace of work on Park Road be further accelerated. |
