| Islamabad: 19 August, 2024: In an effort to get the people rid of corrupt practices in the Building Control Section of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) and undue delays, the process of approval of building plans would be made online from September 1. Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa on Monday chaired a meeting with regard to giving final shape to the online building plan approval. With the introduction of new system, the applicants desiring to construct their houses in Islamabad, will also be able to know latest status of their cases. Member Technology while briefing the meeting said that applicants would be able to get their building plans approved online without visiting CDA offices. CDA chairman on the occasion directed for proper training of concerned staff to handle online system. Chairman CDA said that CDA is also set to launch an application which would help citizens in getting dozens of facilities online. Commenting on launching of online approval of building plans, one of citizens said that it was good initiatives but the CDA management also needs to change years old mind-set of CDA officers and other employees who are only focused on causing undue delays in approval of building plans and issuance of completion certificates for the reasons best known to everyone. “Let us see how far this online system which will also be operated by the CDA employees, will be successful,” he said. |
