Walton Road Upgradation Project: Asphalt layering commences

Lahore: The Central Business District Punjab (CBD Punjab) has reached a key milestone in the Walton Road Upgradation Project with the initiation of asphalt layering, as reported on August 26. The asphalt layering process has begun from Defence Morr towards Major Ishaq Shaheed Flyover, with approximately 900 tons of asphalt laid in the first phase. The project will extend this work further, from Ferozepur Road to Defence Morr, ultimately creating a complete six-lane carriageway. CBD Punjab CEO Imran Amin is closely supervising the project, ensuring that contractors deploy all required machinery for a smooth execution of the asphalt work. Executive Director Technical, Riaz Hussain, confirmed that the project remains on track, with both carriageways expected to be operational by the end of October 2024. This timeline aligns with directives from Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.
