Lahore: Cement sales in Pakistan saw a rise in March 2024, with dispatches increasing by 3.85% compared to the same month in the previous fiscal year, according to a news source on April 2.

As claimed in the details, total cement dispatches during March 2024 amounted to 3.941 million tons, up from 3.795 million tons in March 2023. Local cement dispatches slightly declined by 0.62%, totalling 3.336 million tons in March 2024 compared to 3.357 million tons in March 2023.
However, exports surged by 38.02%, reaching 605,142 tons in March 2024, up from 438,433 tons in March 2023. North-based mills dispatched 2.866 million tons of cement in March 2024, marking a 1.6% increase from March 2023, while south-based mills dispatched 1.074 million tons, showing a notable growth of 10.37% compared to the same period last year.
During the first nine months of the current fiscal year, total cement dispatches, including domestic and exports, increased by 2.68% to 34.502 million tons compared to the corresponding period of the last fiscal year. Domestic dispatches, however, saw a decrease of 3.81%, while exports surged by a remarkable 68.03%.

North-based mills witnessed a reduction in domestic dispatches by 3.24% during this period, while exports from the north increased by 33.62%. South-based mills also experienced a decrease in domestic dispatches by 6.38%, while exports surged by 79.9%. |
