Miyawaki Forest launched in LHR’s LDA Avenue-1

Lahore: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Director General (DG) Tahir Farooq has recently inaugurated the Miyawaki Forest at LDA Avenue-1 in Lahore, as claimed in a news article on March 22. Read: DG reviews development work pace in LDA Avenue-1 Pursuant to the details, 6,000 Miyawaki plants were planted in F Block of LDA Avenue-1 as a part of the ‘Plant for Pakistan’ campaign. The planting ceremony involved senior LDA officials, Synergy CEO Ambreen Riaz Sapra, Synergy team members, and numerous children from LDA schools. The event, conducted in collaboration with Synergy, saw participation from the LDA DG, officials, staff, and school children in planting Miyawaki plants. Additionally, DG Farooq distributed free saplings among Avenue-1 residents and announced LDA’s plan to distribute over 200,000 saplings across the city with support from private housing schemes. Khokhar highlighted the significance of LDA’s campaign, initiated on the directives of Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Maryam Nawaz Sharif, aiming to plant 200,000 saplings in Lahore to combat pollution.
