CDA’s billion rupees project set to transform Margalla Hills

Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has announced a major initiative to enhance biodiversity and greenery in Margalla Hills through a PKR 2 billion project, as brought to light in a news article on March 13. The project concept, ‘Enhancing Biodiversity and Green Cover by Managing Natural Resources, Maintenance, and Rehabilitation of Margalla Hills National Park Landscape,’ will be submitted for funding consideration in the upcoming fiscal year. Over five years, the initiative seeks to enrich flora and fauna, mitigate climate change effects, and address environmental concerns such as diminishing green cover and water runoff. Key strategies include planting indigenous species, guarding hiring, checking dams, and water pond construction.
