LDA DG for action plan to prevent illegal commercialisation

LAHORE: LDA Director General Tahir Farooq has said that IT-based reforms in the Town Planning Wing were inevitable and vowed to introduce a new era of information technology in the LDA. LDA Director General Tahir Farooq chaired a meeting of LDA Town Planning Wing on Thursday. In the meeting, Chief Town Planner One and Chief Town Planner Two gave a detailed briefing about the working of the wing. He directed for strictly ensuring the implementation of LDA Building Control Regulations. Tahir Farooq directed that boards should be installed on all under-construction approved buildings with details related to the approval of the building plan. The DG directed that there should be no debris on the properties under construction in LDA controlled area without the SOPs and all under construction properties should be geo-tagged. Tahir Farooq also directed for formulating an action plan based on concrete measures to prevent illegal commercialisation and illegal construction. In the meeting, Tahir Farooq asked all directors of town planning to improve revenue generation. The DG directed that all directors should complete their targets before the end of the financial year. The meeting was attended by Chief Town Planner One Sidra Tabasum, Chief Town Planner Two Azhar Ali, Director Finance Kashif Imran, Director Revenue and all directors of Town Planning. Later, Director General Tahir Farooq visited Wasa headquarters. MD WASA Ghafran Ahmad gave a briefing about the working of all the wings of Wasa. He briefed the DG about the infrastructure of Wasa, tube-wells, filtration plants, solarisation, and waste water treatment plants.
