The Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) has kick-started a mega beautification drive in the garrison city in compliance with the directions of the Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif. Under this drive, the main squares and cross sections of the garrison city and roads would be refurbished and the heaps of garbage lying on and along the roads are being removed on a war-footing. Likewise, the green belts, footpaths and pavements are also being cleaned.
As the first step, the sculptures, flowers and plants would be placed at the entrance of the city areas under the beautification drive while the main squares would be illuminated during the evening time.

PHA Director General (DG) Ahmed Hassan Ranjha also visited various cross-sections of the city on Wednesday and while talking to media, said lights would also be installed in the underpass and at open spaces of the elevated Metro Bus track.
Ranjha also issued orders to ensure cleanliness in all the parks of Rawalpindi and Murree. Meanwhile, special instructions have also been issued for the respective and concerned officials to ensure neat and clean roads and highways in the jurisdiction of Rawalpindi and Murree.
The PHA has started cleanliness work in all the parks of Rawalpindi on emergency footings and special arrangements are being made to facilitate public transport in all the smaller and major parks of the garrison city with all state of the art facilities.
Renovation work of public parks has also been started in all the parks of Rawalpindi city with instructions of Director General PHA Rawalpindi and all the respective and concerned officials have been instructed to submit their reports on renovation work on a daily basis. |
