LDA DG reviews Bund Road projects, directs contractors to expedite work pace

Lahore: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Director General (DG) Muhammad Ali Randhawa has directed the contractors involved in the ‘controlled access corridor’ project on Bund Road to enhance their efforts for swift completion of the development work, according to a news report published in national dailies on December 27. Read: Several more roads in Lahore to become signal-free; LDA shares details DG Randhawa reviewed the progress of both package 1 (from Babu Sabu to Sagiyan) and package 2 (from Sagiyan to Niazi Chowk) of the project. During his meeting with the contractors of the two packages, a plan was presented to accelerate the work pace on both segments of the project. The DG urged the contractor of package 2 to allocate additional resources, including machinery and labor, to expedite the construction. LDA’s Chief Engineer Israr Saeed, along with the contractors and the project director, provided updates on the ongoing development work, indicating that 42 percent of package 1 and 25.5 percent of package 2 had been completed. He directed relevant officials and contractors to expedite the remaining tasks, such as plantation, and the construction of side roads and drains, to ensure the timely completion of this significant project. The DG emphasized the implementation of a traffic management plan at Shahdara Chowk, with the assistance of the traffic police, to facilitate the smooth flow of traffic in the area.
