Lahore: Caretaker Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Mohsin Naqvi issued directives on Monday, urging authorities to expedite the civil works of Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) projects in Gujranwala, Rawalpindi, and Faisalabad, as per a news article on December 26.

According to the details, CM Naqvi emphasised the need for timely completion, setting a deadline of December 31 for these critical infrastructure developments. Chairing a meeting at the PSCA’s head office in Lahore, CM Naqvi instructed commissioners and Regional Police Officers (RPOs) to conduct regular visits to monitor progress. He further mandated the submission of daily progress reports to ensure transparency and accountability in the implementation of these projects.
The PSCA projects include the integration of 600 cameras in Faisalabad, 700 CCTV cameras in Gujranwala, and 750 cameras in Rawalpindi with the PSCA system. CM Naqvi stressed the importance of this integration in bolstering the overall security infrastructure of these cities.
Furthermore, in another development, CM Naqvi marked the official inauguration of the Gulberg Sports Complex as well. While actively participating in the event, he inspected the gymnasium, the badminton indoor hall, and the swimming pool, demonstrating his commitment to promoting sports and recreation.
During his visit, CM Naqvi scrutinised the exercise machinery in the gymnasium and checked the facilities of the ladies’ gym indoor hall. He observed a taekwondo session and personally experienced the process of obtaining a sports complex membership through the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) application.

In a symbolic gesture, CM Naqvi paid the membership fee and became the first member of the complex. Engaging in various sports activities, including badminton and snooker, he showcased his support for a healthy and active lifestyle. CM Naqvi also took the opportunity to inspect the adjoining commercial zone linked to the sports complex and expressed appreciation for the high standards maintained. |
