Islamabad: Pakistan is in the final stage of finalizing its first-ever National Space Policy, set to regulate the burgeoning satellite industry within the country, a news source reported on December 7. Satellite service providers intending to offer their services within the country will be mandated to register and obtain a Non-Objection Certificate (NOC) under this policy. The federal government is poised to approve the policy imminently, as it has garnered consensus from all relevant stakeholders. The Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication, in collaboration with the Space & Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO), formulated the draft policy. This draft was then shared with various ministries for feedback, ensuring a comprehensive and inclusive approach.
