LDA launches drive to eliminate encroachments in Lahore

Lahore: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA), in a resolute and impactful move, has launched a comprehensive operation to tackle encroachment within the city, according to the news circulated on August 10. Read: Clear timelines to be established for ongoing projects: LDA DG The operation’s primary goal of this drive is to eliminate unlawfully occupied properties and regain possession of high-value shops valued to the tune of the millions. On August 9, the LDA proudly announced the successful recovery of 23 shops that were under illicit occupation for an extended duration. The operation involved teams from the Town Planning IV department strategically deployed across various neighbourhoods in Lahore. The targeted sites included a partially demolished unauthorized commercial plaza and several other illicit commercial buildings. Spearheaded by Director Housing II Wasim Zafar, and Director Town Planning IV Ali Nusrat, the operation received decisive guidance from Additional DG Housing Captain Shahmeer Iqbal (retd.).
