ISB’s all road projects to have funds for plantation

Islamabad: The authorities have decided to allocate 2% of the total funds for road projects towards plantation and the development of green belts as a part of the comprehensive plan to increase the green cover in the city, according to news published in the national dailies on July 6. The allocation of funds for plantations is expected to help enhance the green cover and address the growing concern of air pollution. Pine trees, indigenous to the area, have been recently planted along major roads, sourced from local nurseries. The authorities have expressed their commitment to promoting a culture of plantation and plan to expand this trend in various forms.
