WB, Punjab launch water supply, sanitation project in 16 districts

Rahim Yar Khan: The Punjab government and the World Bank (WB) has introduced the Punjab Rural Sustainable Water Supply and Sanitation Project in as many as 16 districts of the province, according to news published on May 14. Read: WASA RWP requests provincial govt for PKR 2 bn water supply project According to the project’s Tehsil Manager Jamil Ahmed Khan, all concerned mauzas of all tehsils have been asked to arrange state and private land for the project in coordination with the local administration. Deputy Commissioner Revenue (ADCR) Ahmed Raza Butt revealed that the tehsil chosen for the Punjab Rural Sustainable Water Supply and Sanitation Project and Solid Waste Management Project in Rahim Yar Khan is Liaqatpur Tehsil. The projects will be executed under the joint efforts of district administration, Punjab Rural Municipal Services Company and the local government and community development department.
