Rawalpindi: The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA)’s governing body approved the plan to prepare a new PC-1 for Leh Expressway and Flood Channel project with a focus on the flood mitigation plan in the Nullah Leh, a news source reported on May 6.

The 62nd meeting of the governing body was held in which the new plan of the said project was approved. According to a senior RDA official, the Punjab government wants to reduce the cost of the project and wants to focus on mitigating flood in monsoon season by separating the stormwater coming from Margalla Hills and sewage from the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi.

The news source mentioned that the authority will hire a consultant to make a new plan. The government agency will be hired for this purpose. The chief engineer went on to say that the plan will be prepared soon so that the work could be started in the next fiscal year. He further added that roads will be constructed on both sides of the nullah. |
