CDA to launch mega road development projects in ISB’s rural areas

Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has decided to launch mega development projects, worth PKR 10 billion, in rural areas of the capital city, according to a news published in the leading newspaper on May 9. Read: CDA mulls setting up City Business District along Margalla Avenue The news source mentioned that the CDA Engineering Wing has invited tenders from the construction companies in order to award contracts for 17 projects, worth PKR 2.8 billion, in the first phase. CDA Director Work Tahir Mahmood stated that ICT’s local department’s help was sought to identify the roads, towns, and areas that required work. He went on to say that the PC-1 of the projects have been prepared and now tenders have been called. It was mentioned that the 17 projects will be completed in a period of three months. The following are the details of the road development projects: Rehabilitation and upgradation of Shah Allah Ditta Road up to Alexander Well, at the estimated cost of PKR 380 million Rehabilitation of Main Golra Road, at the cost of PKR 144 million Upgradation and rehabilitation of Jodh and Sarai Kharboza Road, at an estimated cost of PKR 135 million Rehabilitation of roads in Golra, Sangjani, and other areas, at a total cost of PKR 130 million Rehabilitation of Simly Dam Road, Sewer, and Jandghand Roads, at the cost of PKR 120 million Rehabilitation of roads in Mandla, Bari Imam, Banigala, Gokina, and Sanjalian, at the estimated cost of PKR 141 million Read: CDA proposes to construct a road in Margalla Hills Rehabilitation of Phulgran, Sakreela, and Member Roads, for the cost of PKR 160 million Construction of a road from Naiabadi to Huzaifa Town and internal roads of Malpur and Bhara Kahu, at the cost of PKR 151 million Rehabilitation of Sihala Japan Road and other schemes for Golra Mast, Khana, and other rural areas.
