Islamabad: Federal Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal has formed a 15-member National Task Force on Artificial Intelligence (AI) with an aim to achieve the national development goals, according to news published on April 15. The task force features AI experts and representatives from the government and private sectors.

The main objective of forming the task force on AI is to develop a 10-year road map for accelerated adoption of AI in various sectors including governance, development, business, education and healthcare. Iqbal highlighted AI’s importance and stated that it will bring ‘transformative changes in the fields of economy, governance, and education’.
He opined that the task forces will leverage AI for Pakistan’s development and ensure that its benefits were accessible to all segments of the society. He pointed out that by using AI, decision-making processes can be enhanced for facilities like personalized medical treatment and improved learning experiences. He stated that this development can lead us to solutions that were previously unattainable. |
