LDA forms working group to inspect building bylaws’ in private projects

Lahore: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has formed a working group to examine the implementation of building bylaws in private housing schemes falling under the jurisdiction of the LDA, a news source reported on March 22. Read: LDA to use CCTV cameras for monitoring development projects As per the notification issued by LDA director general, the working group will review the existing enforcement of laws and regulations, as well as suggest new amendments. The news source mentioned that the said group will propose improvements in implementation mechanisms, especially for the justification of Director Estate Management (PHS). The group will also review overall monitoring and implementation related to illegal housing schemes. Moreover, the working group will recommend a regulatory framework to stop the tendency of overselling of plots by the developers. It will recommend a mechanism to monitor and manage developed housing societies and act as a regulator in the post-development phase.
