Construction of commercial buildings allowed on Srinagar Highway’s unacquired ROW

Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) Planning Wing has allowed the construction of commercial buildings on the unacquired right of way (ROW) of Srinagar Highway, a news source reported on February 25. Read: CDA to expand Srinagar Highway, Jinnah Avenue As per the details, the Srinagar Highway, according to the Master Plan of 1960, was supposed to have a Right of Way (ROW) expanding to 1,200 feet. Due to this, the civic agency has acquired land in major areas. However, it was decided that the remaining unacquired area of ROW in Zone II, will be used for commercial projects. The news source disclosed that the authority will not acquire the ROW in G-16 and G-17 because it has been allotted for commercial buildings. Previously, the city managers decided to charge a conversion fee on the entire plot area.
