CDA to acquire electric buses from NRTC for 13 metro routes

Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has decided to acquire buses for the 13 new routes from the National Radio and Telecommunication Corporation (NRTC) instead of a private firm, according to news published in the national dailies on February 18. CDA Chairman Noorul Amin Mengal stated that once the agreement is finalised, the NRTC is bound to start services within 90 days. It was mentioned that the civic agency cancelled the bids and decided to invite new bids. However, the chairman asked the Transport Wing to look at the options of acquiring buses from NRTC. After several meetings, it was decided that NRTC will provide 150 buses to be operated on the new routes.
