Islamabad: Foreign Secretary Dr Asad Majeed Khan met Norwegian Deputy Foreign Minister Erling Rimestad and discussed diverse areas of cooperation to strengthen bilateral relations with Norway, the news sources reported on February 17.

Reportedly, Norwegian Deputy Foreign Minister Erling Rimestad is on a visit to Pakistan as part of regular bilateral interactions. During the meeting, the foreign secretary emphasized the long-standing bilateral relations with the country.

Dr Khan said that Norway has diverse interests in Pakistan’s investment, maritime, climate and higher education sectors and called for new areas of investment to be identified for mutually beneficial collaboration. He also thanked Norway for its assistance in the relief efforts for the flood-affected people. The foreign secretary said that the Pakistani diaspora acts as a strong connection between the two counties and stressed the enhancement of legal migration and mobility opportunities for Pakistanis. |
