Rashakai SEZ to be made operational next month

Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Economic Zones Development & Management Company (KP-EZDMC) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Javed Iqbal Khattak shared that the Rashakai – a prioritised Special Economic Zone (SEZ) – will be made operational in March, a news source reported on February 13. Read: PM Shehbaz briefed on progress of Rashakai SEZ CEO Khattak shared that 98% of the infrastructure development in the Rashakai SEZ is completed and it will be the first of the four prioritised SEZs to become operational. It is a flagship project of the KP government, developed under the industrial cooperation of the China-Pakistan-Economic-Corridor (CPEC) framework that spreads over an area of 1000 acres. Sharing details about the SEZ, the power transmission and transformation are near completion, which are vital parts of the project. The main purpose of this project is to set up export-oriented industrial units in the zone. The SEZ is expected to generate 250,000 to 300,000 employment opportunities. The CEO highlighted that many investors have started construction work on the industrial units.
