Lahore: The Punjab Land Revenue Authority (PLRA) will start issuing online ‘Fard’ documents to the citizens soon, news sources reported on February 6.

The news was shared by Senior Member Board of Revenue (SMBR) Nabil Javed during his visit to the PLRA headquarters. Mr Javed said that the facility will be available to the masses as the land record digitisation is nearing completion. He said that the new online system will help curb illegal land record tampering and will also improve service delivery. The SMBR was also briefed on the occasion regarding the ongoing digitisation efforts including the new online system.

It is important to note that the PLRA is digitising Punjab’s land records in association with the World Bank (WB). The WB has provided USD 150 million to the department for the exercise which also includes Geographic Information System (GIS) survey to accurately access the state land. |
