Funds allocated to resurrect Islamabad’s wildlife conservation facility

Islamabad: The government has allocated PKR 500 million for the resurrection of a Wildlife Conservation and Information Centre under the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP 2022-23), a news source reported on January 30. Read: CDA to swap 327-acre land with Islamabad Wildlife Management Board As per the details, the incumbent government is keen on reviving the Islamabad Zoo as a wildlife rehabilitation facility and developing a wild species learning centre where the public and students will learn more about the indigenous species of Margalla Hills National Park (MNHP). It was revealed that two third of the land will be used for entertainment areas while the remaining area will be used for the rescue and rehabilitation centre at the zoo. Being the first of its kind where the rescued animal from across the country will be brought and medical care will be provided.
