PCBDDA to open Kalma Chowk underpass for traffic from next month

Lahore: The Punjab Central Business District Development Authority (PCBDDA) has decided to open the Kalma Chowk underpass and surrounding roads for traffic by February, according to news sources reported on January 23. Read: CBD gets registered as flagship project on Punjab’s development landscape PCBDDA Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Imran Amin shared the news while presiding over the review meeting of the project’s progress. He stated that the authority is busy working day and night to complete the project within the stipulated time. The CEO also announced that the underpass will be open for traffic by February and that the authority will be able to complete both barrels of the Central Business District (CBD) Punjab Boulevard project. During the meeting, the CEO was briefed that the authority has completed the excavation of the rainwater storage tank in Saint Mary Park and that the cementing of the underpass’s roof is also completed. The project entails the construction of two underpasses and an overhead bridge to improve the traffic flow, and to divert traffic from CBD to Kalma Chowk and Gulberg Main Boulevard.
