NHA to start Rawalpindi-Kahuta Road dualisation project

Islamabad: The National Highway Authority (NHA) has decided to start work on the Rawalpindi-Kahuta Road dualisation project, news sources reported on January 17. Read: NHA to revive Kahuta-Rawalpindi Road dualization project Under the project, a new contractor will be hired and the entire project after its start will be completed in 14 months. The NHA will complete work on the Rawalpindi-Kahuta Road dualisation of the 28-kilometre-long road in two packages. The first package will consist of a 16.5-kilometre-long road from Sihala Railway Pass, Sihala bypass and Kahuta bypass. In this regard, NHA has asked the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to issue the required no-objection certificate (NOC) for land acquisition for the first package of the project. The authority officials have stated that the board will issue a NOC and will also discuss the related work in its upcoming meeting expected to convene in the next 2 days.
