CDA to acquire 30 new metro buses, bidding results announced

Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has announced the results of its financial bidding process to acquire 30 buses for the metro bus project connecting Peshawar Morr to the New Islamabad Airport, news sources reported on January 13. Read: CDA to constitute transport wing for Metro Bus Services in Islamabad As per the CDA sources, the lowest bid was submitted by an international firm, Higer Bus Company Limited, for PKR 728 million, or PKR 24.2 million per vehicle. The two other bids by the Pakistani company were from Master Motors Corporation, which submitted a bid of PKR 29.8 million per bus, and Foton and Auto Park, which submitted a bid of PKR 33 million per bus. Speaking to the media, a CDA official said that the successful bid proposal will now be forwarded to CDA management for final approval before placing the order for the buses, which are expected to be provided within four months. It is important to note that the federal government has set aside PKR 300 million for the Peshawar Morr to Islamabad Airport bus project in the fiscal year 2020–21. Since its acquisition, CDA has constructed various corridors and stations of the metro track including work on security, ticketing, and station management systems.
