Site offices of illegal housing schemes sealed

RAWALPINDI: Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) on Sunday sealed site offices of three illegal housing schemes besides recovering fines of Rs10.7 million from various commercial building owners.

Site offices of Wapda Town in Taxila Tehsil, Regent Farm Housing Scheme on Chakri Road near Motorway Interchange and Life Residencia on Fatehjang Road were sealed by the authority’s enforcement directorate and local police. First information reports (FIRs) have also been lodged against two illegal housing schemes namely Mangolia Housing and New Rawal City.

Furthermore, the LU&BC Wing’s staff has sealed an under-construction illegal plaza in Gulraiz Housing Scheme as owners of the properties were allegedly in violation of the Punjab Development of States Act 1976 and RDA Building and Zoning Regulations, 2020 and constructed illegal commercial buildings without approval and NOC.
