The PKR 785 million project is aimed at remodelling and expanding the city’s Ammar Chowk. Now, the authorities concerned are set to hold a meeting over the possibility of transferring control of the venture from the RDA to the RCB. However, the Punjab government is looking to transfer funds for the project to the RCB via the RDA for administrative reasons, which is causing undue complications. As it stands, the project has been allocated PKR 150 million during the current fiscal year.
According to RDA officials, the project needs to be transferred to the RCB for security concerns that need to be handled by the cantonment board.
